worlds within worlds

The use of Allegory draws from us the knowledge of ourselves that remains hidden until the question is asked.  We would hope to be the brave warrior or the humble nobleman. But our conscious mind may not present the question until the vehicle of allegory facilitates it. Life is the best vehicle but by the time the question is asked in life, it's too late to change the answer.
